ORAL CONTRACEPTIVES TABLETS

Oral contraceptives also known as birth control pills that are hormonally active pills which are usually taken by women on a daily basis. They contain either two hormones combined (progestogen and estrogen) or a single hormone (progestogen). Combined oral contraceptives suppress ovulation i.e stop the eggs developing, so there is no egg released from the ovary.

    Dosage : Maxim comes in blister strips marked with the day of the week next to each pill. Each strip contains 21 pills. Take one pill each day for 21 days.   • This is a combination of 2 hormones: an estrogen (ethinyl estradiol) and a progestin (drospirenone). This product is used to prevent pregnancy. Lynestrenol :

  • Lynestrenol is a synthetic progestin for oral contraception. Lynestrenol suppresses ovulation and formation of corpus luteum, it can delay the onset of menstruation subjected to daily intake without interruption. The contraceptive effect of Lynestrenol is based primarily on the influence on the cervical mucus (viscosity increases and the permeability of the cervical mucus decreases), simultaneous changes in the endometrium impede implantation of the fertilized egg.
